Southern Maryland Kennel Club Dog Show
The Kennel Club holds a two day show every year the last weekend in June/first weekend in July. The show is part of a larger 5 day cluster of shows refered to as the Blue Crab Cluster.
The 2017 Southern Maryland Kennel Club Dog Show was a great success in Richmond, Virginia. All activities were held inside - except of course the Dock Diving!
The Cluster starts off with the Potomac Hound Show on Thursday, followed by the 2 day Southern Maryland Kennel Club Show on Friday and Saturday, closing on Sunday and Monday with a 2 day all breed show by Tidewater Kennel Club of Virginia .
Along with over 1200 dogs of all breeds, there are other activities that vary from year to year. In the past, we have had visits from one of the last remaining therapy dogs used at 9/11, Local Art show put on by the Club for members of Melwood, and Meet the Breed Activities. In 2016, the highlights included a Crab Feast and B-B-Q, and Dock Diving.
